  • Describe how current legislation may continue to shape the final structure of Minnesota Paid Leave benefits and application
  • Discuss the pros, cons, and considerations associated with employer participation options
  • Identify the impacts of Minnesota Paid Leave to existing policy and process
  • Apply leave and time off policies to leave scenario examples in a future state with Minnesota Paid Leave in the mix!
  • Describe what and how to consider revisions to current leave and time off policies 
  • Explain how to manage time off requests in coordination with leave laws
  • Discuss the importance of messaging changes to leave and time off policies

Minnesota Employer Coalition is a non-profit organization formed exclusively to offer educational and informational content to practitioners in the absence and disability field.  Our educational sessions provide opportunities for practitioners to share challenges, best practices and collaborative problem solving to meet the goals of their individual organizations and further professional development.

Minnesota Paid Leave Employer Workshop: Brycie Wasson will provide guidance on coordinating the myriad of benefits employees will have access to and preparing for the new program, including working through actual leave of absence and use case scenarios. During this interactive setting, she will further highlight the process a company may use to implement Minnesota Paid Leave while discussing how it will interact with other employer paid policies and federal and state leave and accommodation laws.

Brycie has dedicated her career to absence and disability management, partnering with employers nationwide from her home base in the Twin Cities. She began her journey administering FMLA leaves for one of the nation’s largest retailers, advancing to manage Absence and Disability Benefits programs before transitioning into consulting. Over the years, Brycie has implemented effective absence solutions such as harmonizing policies, integrating state Paid Family and Medical Leave programs, optimizing outsourced leave administration, and leveraging technology to streamline in-house programs. Passionate about navigating the evolving regulatory landscape, she equips employers with strategies to build compliant, efficient, and impactful absence management programs.
